The South West Regional Authority is a statutory public body with responsibility for strategic planning in the region. The authority also makes recommendations on government investment programmes and monitors and reviews the operation of the National Development Plan.
A joint presentation at this forum informed delegates that two EU funded projects, TRAP (Interreg IVC) and IRD Duhallow LIFE, have come together in order to form a Catchment Action Plan for the River Allow in North Cork. The event was well attended by numerous organisations across three regions.
From the 8th to the 9th of October 2013, the South West and Mid-West Regional Authorities will jointly host a TRAP project meeting and Irish study visits. This event will provide an ideal platform to enable the exchange of good practice between the TRAP Irish partners and the other TRAP partners.
