South West Regional Authority

The Authority formed the Cork Airport Consultative Committee, in 2001.

Membership of the committee is comprised of representatives of :

• The Regional Authority
• The Local Authorities
• The members of the Oireachtas (Parliamentary representatives) from the area,
• The Dublin Airport Authority/Cork Airport.
• Cork Chamber of Commerce,
• The Irish Business and Employers Confederation (IBEC)
• The Association of Irish Travel Agents.

The Committee was very active in leading a campaign for the redevelopment of the Airport and seeking to have Cork Airport operate as an independent entity.
